As the new Multicare Health System parking structure was being built, a unique trench drain system was needed to aid in removing water that could collect and seep into the pavement directly over the parking garage. To combat water from pooling and seeping, a waterproof membrane was put under the slab and a trench drain was incorporated into the design to move water away. ACO Membrane Drain with ADA iron grates was selected because it is designed specifically for use in suspended slabs where liquids permeating through the pavement are collected on a membrane and directed into the trench drain via ‘weep holes’. Additionally, the ADA iron grates are used to ensure pedestrian safety throughout the parking structure.
