The Plaza at Harvard University - Cambridge, MA

The City of Cambridge was making repairs and improvements to the Cambridge Street vehicular tunnel beneath The Plaza at Harvard University. This provided the opportunity to resurface the area to provide a flexible, open space that can be enjoyed by the campus and community. The plaza offers informal seating, architectural benches, work out stations, an oversize chess set, Foosball, ping pong and hosts a wide array of events including a farmers market.

Sustainability was central to the design and an 8" wide custom Aquaduct trench drain was used to collect stormwater from the paved area for subsequent infiltration. ADA compliant architectural stainless steel grates complement the modern design of this high profile project.
