The deep bend of the Alabama River was once the key to the Southeast and a strategic point in the Colonial Days. Today, this riverwalk is a tourist attraction.
The Riverwalk has a lot of pedestrian traffic due to the history of the area, local baseball stadium, and new amphitheater where music concerts are held. Therefore, it is critical that these areas do not become flooded and to prevent sediment and fertilizers from entering the river.
ACO KlassikDrain K100S was chosen to meet the hydraulic requirements of the project. Additionally, the mosaic ductile iron grates were selected to compliment the street furniture.
