George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, Vincennes, IN

The memorial at George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is believed to be the site of Fort Sackville. In February, 1779, Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark and his men captured Fort Sackville and British Lieutenant Governor Henry Hamilton, this victory over the British remains one of the great feats of the American Revolution.

In late 2011, the grounds around the statue of Francis Vigo (the man who financed Clark’s campaign) was refurbished with the addition of a trench drain to ensure the pedestrian walkways remained safe and dry during inclement weather. The Type 479 ductile iron grates are rated to Load class C to withstand large volumes of pedestrians and are also ADA compliant.
