GRANDE, May 6, 2015 – The memorial sculpture for Officer Sean Collier, was
unveiled Wednesday, April 29 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
in Cambridge, MA, to honor the MIT police officer killed in the line of duty by
the Boston Marathon bombers in 2013. ACO Polymer Products, a world leader in
trench drains, provided 130 feet of the KS100 drainage system to the project,
complete with a stainless steel Brickslot grate and access units. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif";">Due
to the extreme winter weather and amount of surface water at the site,
contractor James W. Flett Company needed a durable, yet discreet, drainage
solution for the memorial. ACO’s KS100 system was selected for its durable polymer
concrete channel body and four-inch internal width drain as well as the
stainless steel Brickslot grate that blends in with the paving joints of the
brick pavers at the site. </span><br />

a gathering point for the MIT community. </span><br />

<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 200%;">June 15, 2016 – A webinar recording is now
available that addresses maintaining food safety through hygienic drainage
solutions. The recording of the webinar would be beneficial for plumbing,
quality, process and food safety engineers and managers, and discusses the
importance of drainage when it comes to food safety and protection of customers
and the brand.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 200%;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 200%;">“Drainage Matters – Protect Your Customers
and Your Brand by Preventing Food Contamination”, was a complimentary webinar held
May 25, featuring Mark Haydon, Strategic Manager of Building Drainage at ACO
Polymer Products Inc., USA and Brett Ira, Head of International Key Account
Management, Commercial Kitchens at ACO Industries in Prague, Czech Republic, as
the presenters. </span></div>

<br />
<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 200%;">Drainage systems are easily underestimated as
it is often out of sight and out of mind. It is critical to understand the role
drainage plays in commercial food preparation, clean rooms and other sanitary
areas where hygiene is vital and essential in protecting the processing environment
which directly impacts the company’s brand and reputation. Poor, ineffective or
non-hygienic drainage systems can lead to costly ongoing maintenance or worse,
contamination and drastic measures and costs to rectify and eliminate areas of
risk.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="line-height: 200%;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 200%;">Future success of the food industry requires
the continued development and limitation of risk from poor hygiene. Drainage
plays a critical role in this development, yet, in many instances is one the
elements most neglected, therefore posing a serious risk to future success and
the mitigation of risk. Guidance is available through global organizations such
as EHEDG, NSF and 3A, and this is leading to the development of better
solutions for operators both in terms of drainage design and operational cleaning
and maintenance activities. This webinar looked at some of these key areas and
the new guidance that provides a backdrop of the new opportunities available to
operators.</span></div>

– as listed in EN 1672 and EN ISO 14159. With a strong collaborative
relationship with the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG),
ACO also follows the best practice design principles of EHEDG documents numbers
8, 13 and 44 and was the first drainage manufacturer to become a member of
EHEDG. </span><br />

<div style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">October 10, 2016 – Leading manufacturer of amphibian tunnel
and drift fencing systems, ACO Polymer Products, Inc., recently donated custom
polymer concrete wildlife fencing and a custom fiberglass tortoise burrow to
the Copperwood Schoolyard Habitat for Environmental Education Project.<br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">In 2013, Copperwood PTSA/Peoria Unified School District in
Glendale, Arizona received a $10,000 Heritage Fund grant from Arizona Game and
Fish Department to develop an outdoor environmental education classroom and
desert tortoise habitat at Copperwood Elementary School. This project increases
awareness of the environment, wildlife and promotes outdoor experiences for
students to learn about nature via hands-on exploration. Phase two project development
began in fall 2013 with the assistance of various community partners and
volunteers, and currently is in the final stages of development. Customized
innovative curriculum was developed by Arizona State University professors and
rolled out to the teachers and students during the 2014-2015 school year. A
grand opening for the site will take place in early December 2016. This project
will serve as a model to other schools seeking to integrate outdoor education.<br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div style="line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">The site includes an existing schoolyard habitat with several
native plants and a small pond. The new adjacent site includes several outdoor
classroom/teaching amenities and a new tortoise habitat. The tortoise habitat
is surrounded by a 20’ x 25’ enclosure/wall and will be visited by hundreds of
students throughout the school year, as well as various community groups. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">ACO introduced the concept of modular trench drains to North
America over 30 years ago. Today, ACO in North America is a multi-site
manufacturing and sales operation using a variety of materials for its
extensive range of drainage products for all aspects of building and
construction. ACO utilized its knowledge of surface drainage to develop a
proven amphibian tunnel and drift fencing system. The first tunnel systems were
installed in Europe and North America in 1987. Since this date, numerous sites
have utilized the ACO tunnel and fencing system. Wildlife guidance systems
allow animals to be led safely to their habitats: amphibians, reptiles, and
small mammals can safely cross under roads with a tunnel system and are
prevented from reaching the road surface by surrounding fencing - a measure to
protect both animals and humans.<br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Building a track and field complex, multipurpose field or sport court is a costly undertaking, but with proper initial planning and maintenance, the investment can maintain its’ quality and functionality for many years.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There are many things to consider regarding the design and construction of running tracks and sports fields, but one aspect that will ensure track longevity and performance is addressing the need to evacuate water and keep debris off the track surface. Damage is caused by standing water or “ponding”, particularly in colder climates where the water can freeze, wreaking havoc on an expensive track surface. Add water run-off from the surrounding areas that bring debris and pollutants, and the rate of surface deterioration increases. A track left with standing water over time causes major damage to the surface, delaminating the synthetic surface and asphalt base and severely shortening its usable life.</span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A problem area where water builds up on most tracks is at the furthest inside lane where the track meets the field surface, typically caused by a slope towards the inside lane. If the infield also has a slope towards the track surface, water is likely to pond in this area. This ponding could cause a safety issue for athletes as they cross from the field to the track and is an area to pay special attention to.</span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Effective drainage is critical in the design and construction of any athletic facility. Proper drainage can reduce rain delays, improve conditions for runners, coaches and spectators, reduce maintenance costs and extend the life and performance of the running track or field surface.</span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A trench drain solution provides effective drainage without the need to construct complex slopes and can provide a continuous barrier to protect the running track from contaminated run-off from the in-field or surrounding areas. A high-quality, modular drainage product will allow for easier installation while maintaining strict site tolerances that are required for running tracks. While a variety of materials are available for trench drainage products for tracks and fields, it is important to consider a material that will maintain the tight tolerances required when building a track. Polymer concrete is a rigid inert material that has good long-term durability, low permeability to water and will maintain tight tolerances. Compared to other HDPE trench drain materials, trench drains made of polymer concrete do not expand significantly more than the concrete surround during large temperature changes and they have excellent compressive and flexural strength. </span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For the area where the inside track lane meets the infield surface and water collects, a drainage system that offer a safety edge, or integrated cellular rubber top, will help keep athletes safe as they transition from the field to the track. </span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On Sunday, November 1, 2015, the Mexico Formula One Grand Prix will return to the Formula One Championship at the newly renovated Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track in Mexico City. ACO, the leader in surface drainage products since 1946, provided almost 4 miles of superior drainage solutions for the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit renovation which began in 2014.</span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After the last race at the track in 1992, the circuit lost its Formula One status due to safety concerns. The settlement of the track created a very bumpy surface, deemed dangerous for the F1 cars of the nineties. Other changes required for car run offs and facilities meant that the circuit was not suitable for F1. The leading designer of Formula One motor racing circuits, German Hermann Tilke, was contracted to redevelop the circuit for today’s standards and work began in 2014 on upgrading the circuit complex. “The difficulty in Mexico City is its really tight boundaries, which provide a challenge. We needed to bring some parts of the track to the inside to have more runoff on the outside to comply with FIA safety regulations,” says Tilke.</span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first race for the newly completed Autdodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit will take place on Sunday, November 1, to a sold out crowd of over 100,000. “We truly believe that this could become the largest Formula One race,” says Alejandro Soberon, CEO of CIE, the entertainment company that has brought the Mexican Grand Prix back to the F1 calendar this season.</span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Unlike some motor racing, Formula One will race in both sunshine and rain, which means that any surface water on the track must be evacuated from the track surface as quickly and efficiently as possible to maintain the safety of car and driver. In addition to removing surface water, the track drainage system also had to carry cables for the track communication system in the pit and paddock complex. The easily removable grates of ACO’s trench drainage solution was a perfect solution. Another challenge on a Formula One track is the incredible downforce from the car aerodynamics that requires anything on the surface of the race track to be extremely secure, including the drainage system. All of ACO’s drainage grates built into the circuit are of a monolithic design or have bolts to secure grates to the integral frame of the channel. </span></span></div>
<div class="p1">
<span class="s1"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">ACO’s drainage products are used on all types of commercial construction projects from airport runways to school playgrounds and has been used on many motor racing circuits across the World, including the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas in 2013. Product supply to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit project were manufactured in Rendsburg Germany, Casa Grande, Arizona, USA and Mentor, Ohio, USA. Guillermo Cruz, President of ACO in Mexico City, commented, “Bringing products from three different ACO production facilities on 2 continents means it is very important we can hold and stage products for the redevelopment of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. No other surface drainage supplier has these kinds of facilities and cannot provide the level of technical and on-site support that we can”.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">ACO Polymer Products, Inc. is
pleased to announce it has recently moved its Ohio operations facility from
Chardon to Mentor, Ohio. A grand opening celebration will take place Wednesday,
September 2 at the new facility at 9470 Pinecone Dr. in Mentor. Mrs. Johanna Ahlmann
and Mr. Hans-Julius Ahlmann, President of ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG,
along with Iver Ahlmann, President of ACO Germany, will commemorate the
celebration with a ribbon cutting at 4 pm, followed by guest speakers, hors d’oeuvres,
cocktails and tours of the facility.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">“This building
more than doubles the size of their current facility and provides opportunity
for additional future expansion,” Mentor Community Development Director Ronald
M. Traub said, in a report to Mentor City Council.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">ACO Polymer Products, Inc.
was founded in 1978 and the facility in Chardon, Ohio was ACO’s first
manufacturing factory in the USA. Due to ACO’s growth and demand in recent
years, the Chardon site was no longer able to accommodate the increasing demand
necessary to support ACO’s business in the northeast. ACO found an ideal
location in Mentor, Ohio, 16 miles north of the Chardon site that met the needs
of expanding the operations. “This move has given our
northeast employees a new workplace with the conveniences and technology
similar to other ACO locations. The ACO team has worked hard to make this place
look nice and functional. It has allowed us to install the latest
production technology which will increase our capacity by 35% and help ACO to
strengthen its market leader position as well as provide customers with better
service and quality,” says Vaclav Tikalsky, President of ACO Polymer Products,
Inc.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 150%;">Established in
1946, the ACO group has manufactured products for almost 70 years in the construction
industry. It operates on a global basis through its subsidiaries and
manufacturing facilities in over 45 countries in North America, Europe and
Asia. ACO employs over 4,000 people worldwide. ACO Polymer Products, Inc.
introduced the concept of modular trench drains to North America over 30 years
ago. Today, ACO in North America is a multi-site manufacturing and sales
operation using a variety of materials for its extensive range of drainage
products for all aspects of building and construction. ACO USA also has
locations in Casa Grande, Arizona and Fort Mill, South Carolina.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;">
<strong>The
City of Marathon on Grassy Key needed a solution for capturing storm water
run-off from the fire station, as the site was built up from the road during
construction. Given the vast amounts of rainfall south Florida receives, it was
a necessity to use a 12” wide drainage system. </strong></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none;">
<strong>PowerDrain S300K was used on this
job as it features an integrally cast-in ductile iron edge rail, and longitudinally
slotted ADA compliant ductile iron grates with a Load Class F (90 ton) loading.
This would ensure the drainage system can withstand the heavy duty traffic of
fire engines crossing
over and turning on the drainage system and is still safe for pedestrians to
cross.</strong></div>

This job required the designer to incorporate a drainage system with the aesthetics of the area in mind. The drainage needed to blend in with the brick paver hard scape.</div>

ACO’s Brickslot was a perfect choice for that requirement because it was designed specifically for use with brick or stone pavers to blend into its surrounding area. The discreet slot opens up underneath to a polymer concrete sloped drainage channel.</div>

It is understood that standing water in and around facilities can cause severe structural damage. Potential problems include cracked foundations due to static water pressure buildup on the wall, settling, degradation of adjoining building materials, and freeze–thaw issues. Similarly, ponding (i.e. water collection) and hydroplaning on roads, highways, and bridges are possible safety hazards that can be avoided.<br />

While reviewing the facility layout, a number of pieces of equipment were moved around, necessitating the addition of trench drain in some areas. </div>

Due to the nature of certain chemicals on site it was determined that a double contained trench drain would offer the best and safest solution.</div>

This would provide a primary and secondary trench drain - one inside the other. If the primary trench failed, liquids would be collected in the secondary trench rather than leach into local groundwater. The ductile iron grates offered a heavy duty solution to withstand the maintenance equipment used in the area.<br />

<div align="LEFT" dir="LTR">
To alleviate the problem, ACO’s monolithic HighwayDrain HD200 was retrofitted because it provides a safe, one piece unit with no removable parts that can be lost or stolen or create a hazard to moving vehicles. </div>
<br />
In addition, the simple installation required no bracing and no grates to install which made the trench drain system both cost effective and very quick to instal, minimizing road downtime. The polymer concrete monolithic channel has minimal water absorption properties preventing freeze-thaw breakdown.<br />

The US Naval Academy was founded in 1945 and is the second oldest for the five US service academies. It is where officers for the US Navy and Marine Corps are trained. </div>

<div align="LEFT" dir="LTR">
The ‘Smoke Court’ is an area used for daily formation. The area was being refurbished and a high capacity trench drain was required to address the frequent flooding that occurs during very high tides, as the area is at or near sea level.</div>
<br />
Parallel runs of ACO PowerDrain S300K with longitudinal, ADA compliant grates were used to provide the necessary hydraulics, eliminate the flooding and ensure the area was usable for daily formations. The ductile iron Load Class E, ADA compliant grates ensured the system would withstand frequent pedestrian traffic.<br />

This project was designed to alleviate a flooding problem along a 2,000 foot stretch of Stirling Road in Cooper City, Florida. </div>
<br />
<div align="LEFT" dir="LTR">
Before the trench drain and curbing were installed on the south side of the road, ponding would occur in the grassy area along that side of the road during a rain storm. During storms of longer duration, the water would eventually flood the roadway as well. </div>
<br />
The newly installed curb and ACO HD200 has solved the problem and reduced the hazard to vehicles in that area.<br />
